Join Us in the Fight Against Pediatric Cancer

Band of Parents proudly presents the BOP Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer, returning to Central Park for its second year. Originally founded in 2001 by neuroblastoma warrior Simon Vangel and his sister Sophie, the Kids Walk grew into New York’s largest pediatric cancer event—until it was paused by the pandemic. In 2025, Simon and his family teamed up with Band of Parents to reignite this powerful tradition. Together, we walk to raise awareness, fund research, and stand with children and families facing cancer.

Why We Walk

BOP Kids Walk proceeds will fund critical neuroblastoma research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Despite advancements, pediatric cancer remains underfunded, with less than 8% of the National Cancer Institute's budget dedicated to childhood cancer research. Your participation funds life-saving treatments and helps find cures for the youngest cancer fighters.

A Day for Families

BOP Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer is designed for participants of all ages, offering a fun and meaningful way for families to support children battling cancer. Walk to honor a loved one, raise awareness, or simply spend a family-friendly day in the park. Snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
